Fans continue to anticipate the coming of "Red Dead Redemption 2" by Rockstar Games.
Previously, the first version in 2010 was a big success, selling over 13 million copies around the globe. When Rockstar announced that a sequel was coming, gamers could not help but speculate the official launch date as well as the details that might be included.
Rockstar said earlier in 2014 in a report by GameSpot, "As we've mentioned when asked in the past about new games in other series such as 'Red Dead Redemption', 'Bully' and 'L.A. Noire', we don't always rush to make sequels, but that does not mean we won't get to them eventually."
Rockstar continued, "We have so many games we want to make and the issue is always one of bandwidth and timing. We thank longtime fans such as yourselves as always for your amazing support and please stay tuned in 2015 for announcements of what's to come from Rockstar Games."
Below are some of the top three craziest rumors about "Red Dead Redemption 2":
1. It will be available in first-person shooter mode. Rockstar San Diego, which worked on the first "Red Dead Redemption", has 35 open positions at present, so the game developer might be preparing for big changes in the new wild west-inspired game. In the same report by GameSpot, Rockstar did not indicate whether "Red Dead 2" will still be in third-person or introduce first-person.
Rockstar stated, "We are excited by the response to our first effort at a first-person experience, but remain committed to third person games and may or may not use first person as a camera option in the future. We do like to, whenever possible, give people options so they can play a game the way they like."
2. Available downloadable content or DLC. GameZone reported that in "Red Dead Redemption", there were various DLC packs introduced, particularly introducing gamers to co-op missions. Players also got to select among a number of classes like Gunslinger, Soldier, Marksman and Miner, so Rockstar might continue the concept in "Red 2". Perhaps most, if not all of the missions, except the main story, may be played co-op.
3. A more exciting open-world. In the first installment of the popular Western, there were still very much to add in terms of the open-world environment. GameZone also predicted that there will most likely be new cities and frontiers developed in the new game. More Western-based missions are also expected such as train robberies, duels and executions.
Take Two CEO Straus Zelnick said in a report by Kpopstarz, "Our goal is to try and create permanent franchises, that's the unique goal in the industry."
