Brace yourselves, the tiny hero is coming.
Most of you might have been intrigued by the ant-sized teaser preview of the new "Ant-Man" movie. So here is the full-sized version of the said preview.
In the teaser, it reveals Paul Rudd, playing the role of petty criminal Scott Lang/Ant-man, walking together with some police officers. Then the camera shifts to the waves in the ocean and then to some of the other characters that the film features. It shows some of them fighting while some are just preparing for a battle.
These are Dr. Hank Pym, Ant-man's mentor, villain Darren Cross, owner of Cross Technological Enterprises, and Hope Van Dyne. It then ends with Ant-man running. The 17-second video teaser was uploaded by Marvel Entertainment on Saturday, January 3. As of press time, it has earned almost 2 million views and over 6,400 likes.
This human-sized video teaser came a day after the ant-sized version of the teaser showed up online. The first ant-sized teaser has earned over 5.3 million views and more than 12,000 likes as of press time. Here's the ant-sized video teaser:
In the human-sized video teaser, we see several words flashing. It says, "This Tuesday, something big arrives." This as the movie's full trailer debuts on Tuesday, January 6, during the two-hour series premiere of Marvel's "Agent Carter" on ABC.
Ant-man has the ability to shrink to roughly the size of an ant but can punch with as much force as a normal sized person. He also has the ability to communicate telepathically with insects.
Aside from Rudd, "Ant-man" also stars "Behind The Candelabra" and "Wall Street" actor Michael Douglas as Dr. Hank Pym and "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" and "Lost" actress Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, Hank Pym's daughter.
The cast also includes "House of Cards" and "The Bourne Legacy" actor Corey Stoll, "Danny Collins" and "Annie" actor Bobby Cannavale, "End of Watch" and "American Hustle" actor Michael Peña, and "Togetherness" actress Abby Ryder Fortson. Also included in the cast list are Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, Wood Harris, John Slattery, Gregg Turkington, and T.I.
"Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world," the movie's plot summary provided by Marvel reads.
The movie, which is based on the same Marvel comic character which was first published in 1962, is produced by Marvel Studios' president Kevin Feige together with Louis D'Esposito, Alan Fine, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee. It is directed by Peyton Reed, known for the movies "Bring it On" and "The Break-Up."
It will hit theaters on July 17, 2015.
