Is "Mockingjay" star Jena Malone going to play the role of female Robin in the upcoming "Batman vs Superman" movie?
The rumors about Jena's role as Carrie Kelley in the movie started as early as October after it has been confirmed that she will indeed star in the new film.
In a recent interview with The Daily Beast, Jena refused to comment on these rumors. The report said that Jena's "lips are sealed."
To date, it is still unknown whether she is really playing the role of the female Robin but she is indeed a part of the film as she has been spotted at the set of the film in Detroit with the movie director Zack Snyder. Movie Web noted that the two have already worked before in the movie "Sucker Punch."
E! Online also tried asking Jena about the Carrie Kelley rumors during the book launch of celebrity photographer Jeff Vespa in October but the actress kept mum without even blinking.
Back in October, Variety reported that a female Robin will allegedly be featured in the new "Batman vs Superman" movie. The report cited Detroit's WILX-10 news station reporter Kirk Montgomery who talked with an extra during the filming of a scene at Michigan State University. The unidentified source said that he "learned that the character of Robin is now female." Warner Bros. has remained mum about the rumors.
The rumors about Jena's Carrie Kelley's role got even stronger when the actress posted on Instagram a photo showing her newly dyed hair.
Drastic times call for drastic measures.

Cinema Blend says that Carrie Kelley's hair in the movie "The Dark Knight Returns" was also red. However, it noted that the rumors have flaws as Jena who is now 30 years old is too old for the 13 year old role. But the report immediately admitted that this might be changed as it can easily be said that Carrie is now on her 20s and that she's been working for Batman for several years.
Cinema Blend also said that the red haird should not only be associated with Carrie Kelley. It noted that Barbara Gordon, also known as Batgirl, is also a prominent redhead. This means that there is also a possibility that Carrie won't be there and Batgirl would be in the new movie. To date, no official announcements or confirmation have been made regarding the speculations.
Even if it would be confirmed that Jena plays the role of Carrie, nothing has been reported about how much her character would appear or what would contribute as little has been known about the upcoming movie. Last week, it has been reported that the movie's trailer has leaked online via 4chan. However, the alleged leaked trailer cannot be seen anywhere on the Internet. The rumored trailer features Batman or Bruce Wayne questioning the intentions of Superman, played by Henry Cavill, following the destruction that happened in the metropolis as seen in the "Man of Steel" movie.
According to Screen Rant, the movie cast list includes Ben Affleck, Diane Lane, Gal Gadot, Holly Hunter, Jason Momoa, Jeremy Irons, Jesse Eisenberg, Laurence Fishburne, and Ray Fisher. The movie will hit theaters on March 25, 2016.
