'Avengers 2' Release Date, Cast & Trailer: A Major Character Is Gonna Die? Guess Who!

It has been speculated that a major character will die in the upcoming "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron" movie.

Movie Pilot's Matt Timmy Creamer says that this would likely happen. Why is that? Creamer listed a few reasons why would he make such theory.

First, he noted that a few major characters have died in other Marvel superhero movies. One of which was Agent Colson who died in the first installment of the "Avengers" movie. He came back but it was in a different platform -- in a television series known as "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Aside from this, it was also noted that in the "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" movie, viewers were teased of Nick Fury's death. However, his death was just a kind of trick that he even played a major role in the second half of the movie.

The trailer emphasizes that "There is only one path for peace...your extinction." Would this mean that something big and unexpected is going to happen? Is somebody gonna die? Who could it be?

Creamer suggests two major scenarios. First, it could be that Hawkeye dies in the movie. Why? The report noted that Hawkeye which is being played by Jeremy Renner has recently been cut in the recent "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" movie. While rumors say that Hawkeye will be getting his own movie in the future, it does not guarantee that he will continue his journey. It noted that talks about the movie has been stalled so this might mean that Marvel has backed out from releasing such film. With such theory, it is only logical to think that he might die in the second "Avengers" movie. Note that Marvel has not yet confirmed this and so this remains as a speculation.

Another major character that Creamer personally thinks has a high chance of getting killed in the upcoming "Avengers" movie is War Machine.

The report gave reasons as to why Don Cheadle's character would perish. It said that War Machine has already been in the three "Iron Man" movies and that there has been no confirmation that Don Cheadle will again be cast in another Marvel movie nor has there been any announcement that War Machine will show up in future Marvel films. Creamer added that, "Perhaps most importantly, I feel that War Machine's death is imminent because this film will place a heavy emphasis on Tony Stark and the decisions he has made."

But how would he die? Creamer also laid out his theory about how would this happen. He said that War Machine might die when Ultron orders his robot minions to destroy the heroes during their party. War Machine's death, the report noted, will definitely affect Iron Man, causing him to destroy the robots he created himself.

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" is a sequel to the first "Avengers" film which is considered as the "third highest-grossing film of all-time." It is based on the Marvel comic book series "The Avengers," which was first published in 1963.

In the sequel, Chris Evans will again star as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, and Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow. Paul Bettany will portray the role of The Vision, Tom Hiddleston as the villain Loki, Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, and James Spader as Ultron. The movie will hit theaters in May.
