Maggie Greene is expected to get sadder in the next episode of "The Walking Dead."
On the eighth episode of "The Walking Dead" season 5, Beth Greene, played by Emily Kinney, suffered an unexpected death during a supposedly trade between Rick Grimes' group and the police officers holding up at the city hospital.
When Beth's sister, Maggie arrived at the hospital at the final scene of the episode, Daryl Dixon was already sobbing while carrying Beth's lifeless body out the door. Maggie collapsed in tears when she realized that it was her sister who got fatally shot in the altercation, based on a recap by CelebDirtyLaundry.com.
The producers have been hinting a more brutal second half of TWD season 5. Although Beth's death was expected by many viewers for several past episodes since she was kidnapped, more characters are bound to go through turmoil in the following episodes when the season continues in February 2015.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Beth's death will have a negative effect on Daryl, who shot the police officer, Dawn, who killed Beth. Norman Reedus, who plays the role of Dayl, told The Hollywood Reporter about the character, "I think it puts him into a depression. Sophia was like hope. You remember Glenn saying, 'This is Sophia!' It was different. She was the bright hope of the future. It was an honest and true person."
Beth's death may put a bigger role for Maggie to play, as well as Glenn, Daryl, Carol and Noah, whom Beth tried to save at the hospital.
As the characters are about to go through "even more hell" in the second half of season 5, the same report by CelebDirtyLaundry.com wrote that Rick and son Carl Grimes and Michonne are going to be safe.
However, either Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) or girlfriend Maggie might be killed, CelebDirtyLaundry.com noted. Glenn is the more likely victim since Maggie's character does not die anytime soon in the comic books.
The writers of the TV show are currently trying to bring the story as close to the comic books as possible, so Glenn's death may happen soon, especially after the group reached the Alexandria Safe Zone to meet a new enemy group, including particularly Negan Teaser.
It would be a huge blow to all "The Walking Dead" fans since Glenn is one of the original characters on the show, appearing since Season 1.
In August 2014, HNGN reported that fans thought Glenn would die at the hands of Negan by being beaten with a bat with barbed wire. The show returns in February 2015.
