Robin Williams' Son Zak Says He Misses His Dad All The Time

Robin Williams' son Zak has revealed in a magazine interview that he misses his dad all the time, four months after the actor comedian died.

The 31-year old man is one of the highlights of People magazine's cover this week.

"I miss him all the time...Often I see something or if I'm watching a film, I think, 'Oh, man, he would have appreciated this' or 'He would have gotten a laugh out of this,'" Zak shared to People.

Zak also told the magazine that he and his siblings Zelda and Cody miss their dad so much and that there are always those times that they think about him. "There's not a day that goes by that we don't think about our dad," to quote him.

Robin Williams' son also shared how he is coping with loss and grief. He said that he is volunteering at a local prison to be able to live his father's legacy of giving back. "It's through helping others that I've begun to heal," the report quoted him as saying.

Robin Williams was found dead at his home in California in August. He was 63. A CNN report said that his death was ruled a suicide by the Marin County coroner. It also noted that alcohol and illegal drugs were not involved although prescription drugs were seen in his house. The coroner's report also said that he used a belt to hand himself.

The report cited Williams' widow Susan Schneider saying that the actor was "struggling with depression, anxiety, and early stages of Parkinson's disease." It noted that he was diagnosed with Parkinson's in November 2013.

People magazine, in its report, said that it also interviewed Robin's first wife, Zak's mom, Valerie Velardi. She talked about what and how the actor left a mark and impact to the people. She said that it was Robin's "compassion and generosity" that has made him famous.

The magazine also said that it talked to Marlo Thomas, one of Robin's workers at the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Thomas said that Robin has an "extraordinary connection" with sick children. "One of them liked toy soldiers, so Robin sent him his own toy soldiers that he had saved all those years of his childhood...When he came there, it was like magic," Thomas was quoted in the report saying.

A separate People report earlier said that Robin's daughter Zelda got a tattoo to honor and always remember his dad. The report cited an Instagram photo which showed Zelda's right hand with a hummingbird tattoo on it. She captioned it, "For poppo...I'll always put my hand out to shake with a smile."

Robin Williams' death, CNN said, caused grief not only to the family but also to his fans and friends in the industry. Several known personalities such as Ellen DeGeneres, Jimmy Fallon, Conan O'Brien and David Letterman even paid tribute to him.
