Dota 2 fans will be delighted to find the latest update just in time for the Christmas season with "Shifting Snows".
IGN.com reported that Shifting Snows is a small gameplay update with a few tweaks and adjustments that will help players improve their strategy. Items and hero powers have been adjusted and the map will be snow-covered to suit the holidays.
The Dota 2 website announced that the winter theme was featured instead of the canceled Frostivus event. There will also be new items in store for gamers at the Dota store including the Treasure of the Frosted Flame chest, giving new armor for characters like Drow Ranger, Luna, Sniper, Shadow Shaman and Legion Commander. Some players might get the rare chance of being rewarded a set for Tiny or Hexgill the Lane Shark courier.
Lazy Gamer wrote that the winter map takes out the wet river that separates both sides. The river is now solid ice, which gives characters like Ancient Apparition, Crystal Maiden and Tusk an extra advantage. Players will particularly enjoy a couple of new treasures - the Frosted Flame chest and the Nested Cache. According to Valve, the Nested Cache is a treasure that provides a random treasure to players. Gamers might get a special gift such as a Treasure Redemption Token, which means that the gift will further provide added gifts.
New material is provided in Dota 2 so that players can sculpt icy idols of themselves. Enemies can also destroy the statues. The captions and poses are also funny and ridiculous at times.
Additionally, IGN also reported that there will be a huge changelog for patch 6.83, which will be present on the" Shifting Snows" page. It will provide info on the gameplay adjustments, bug fixes and other changes to the heroes and items.
Game Spot reported the things to expect in the new Shifting Snows update such as rune spawns turning into bounty runes that will be twice as effective. Illusions deal 25% less damage to structures. Bone Clinkz's base attack range has been increased from 600 to 630. Some abilities no longer have restrictions when players cast these on Spell Immune Allies, such as Living Armor by Treant Protector, Empower by Magnus, Shadow Word by Warlock and X Marks The Spot by Kunkka.
Pudge's Meat Hook range has been increased. Sniper's Shrapnel no longer damages buildings. The Animal Courier's cost was lowered from 150 to 120. A courier carrying a non-full bottle will also be slowed constantly. Many other changes are included as featured on Game Spot.
