Avril Lavigne Sick? Singer Asks for Prayers as She Confronts Health Issues

Previously, it was rumored that Canadian artist Avril Lavigne has called time on her marriage to rocker Chad Kroeger. Now, it appears the 30-year-old is having health problems, the specifics of which have not yet been revealed, according to Billboard.

"I feel bad because I haven't been able to say anything to the fans to let them no [sic] why I have been absent," Avril replied in response to fan account @AvrilMusicChart's question about her next album. "I'm torn as I'm quite private. I'm not feeling well. I'm having some health issues. So please keep me in your prayers."

This has naturally sparked a flurry of expressions of concern from her fans, as well as speculations on whether the singer is actually having pregnancy issues, which her rep recently dismissed.

"Just spoke to rep for Avril. Could not specify health issue but sounded very concerned. Confirmed it's not pregnancy," tweeted Billboard's Jason Lipshutz.

"The health issue could not be specified but it was confirmed that Lavigne is not pregnant, as some have speculated," he later wrote in his piece for the music news source. Lipshutz also observed her rep "sounded 'very concerned" on responding to the query about Avril's condition, Entertainment Tonight noted.

The "Complicated" hitmaker had requested fans to "keep me in your prayers," the publication added.

What sort of a health issue could it be? Is it physical or mental? Or both?

Judging by the rumors about Avril's rocky marriage in the past few months, it could be said that her health problem could be linked to her allegedly troubled relationship with her musician husband, with whom she made an album with. The record, however, did not sell well.

"The musicians have been 'fighting a lot' and that they're having a lot of issues,'" E! News said.

"There's jealousy on both sides. She flirts, he flirts. She's very insecure to begin with," an insider told the entertainment news source. "[Now that] the album didn't do as well as they had hoped...they're finding that they're not seeing eye to eye on a lot of things."

This sounds sickness-inducing.

In addition, the singer had been seen going out with friends without the huge diamond ring Chad gave her. The 39-year-old Nickelback frontman was also absent at Avril's 30^th birthday bash in September. He had previously dismissed the reports about his marriage being in trouble, although he did reveal his family got concerned about the gossip.

"You know my dad calls me up and he's just like, 'I haven't slept in two days, what's going on?' I'm like, "Dad you're not buying all this c**p are you?" Chad said.

"You know, I get to hear all the rumour mill stuff. So it's, it's...I find it very amusing," he was quoted by MailOnline as saying.
