Either One Direction is tired of the huge success that it has been getting on a global scale or some quarters are just too envious of the band's fame that they would do everything to pull the group down while at the peak of its music career.
Those seem to be the two most logical reasons to rumors swirling around lately that members of the British boy band are about to part ways.
As early as July this year, there were already speculations about members of 1D going on separate ways. But the group put those silly notions to rest with the release, and very successful at that, of its fourth and latest album titled "Four" on November 17.
Their latest album eventually went on to top the charts, as expected, and the group even went on to win the prestigious 'Artist of the Year Award' during the 2014 American Music Awards on November 23, as detailed by Hollywood Life.
Last week, the band was in Sydney, Australia as guests of honor at the Aria awards on November 26 held at the Star casino where they were met by screaming and swarming 'Directioners,' notes The Guardian.
One Direction's stint in Sydney last week fuelled speculations that something may indeed be wrong with the band especially when Zayn Malik and Harry Styles showed up in Australia one day later from the rest of the group.
In another report, The Guardian expressed its opinion by saying: "Liam's having trouble smiling. Zayn's having trouble turning up and Harry is said to be flying solo? What is happening to our heroes?"
Even Simon Cowell, the high-profile talent scout who gave them a break after placing third in the seventh season of "The X Factor" on British television in 2010, hinted of a struggle to control his creation, added the report.
"Whispers of a bitter factionalism abound. Harry has a separate private plan from the others some say, while others report that each band member insists on a separate car even for 15-minute journeys," disclosed The Guardian.
A December 2 report of the International Business Times also said that Zayn Malik is reportedly leaving the group to focus on therapy relative to alleged substance abuse issues. Speculations about Malik's alleged issues with drugs grew louder when One Direction guested on the US breakfast show "Today" on November 18 and Zayn was not with them
His absence prompted show host Matt Lauer to say and ask: "There's been a lot of action on social media about him (Zayn). Is it something more serious than just a minor illness? There have been rumors of substance abuse. What's going on?"
The IB Times reported that it was Liam Payne who responded to Matt by saying: "No, he's just got a stomach bug. He's okay. He's just at home. He just needs to rest. He's okay."
One Direction has a total of 73 concert tours from 2014 to 2015 to promote their latest album beginning on December 11 at London for the BBC Music Awards 2014. Pressure is now on each member of the group to get their acts together or simply let fame and fortune swallow them out of the limelight.
