One Direction is unarguably the world's most popular music boy band today. Their chart-topping songs and albums, including the latest titled "Four," as well as their huge following all over the world are but clear testaments to their immense popularity.
But a sister of Zayn Malik, one of the members of the British boy band 1D, is unimpressed with the fame that the group has been getting and even brands some of its fans as "psychotic," reports the Daily Star.
The 22-year-old looker Doniya Malik made the statement when she was asked on video app Live Lens about her opinion on his brother's and his bandmates' soaring global popularity, notes the report.
"Yes, sometimes you are very sweet. Then sometimes you can get the psychotic ones and I don't like that," says Doniya, who has almost half a million following on Twitter.
She also claimed that she has not listened to any of the songs on One Direction's latest album, released almost two weeks ago, points out the Daily Star report.
Some people believe that Doniya is just pulling off a publicity stunt or simply want to ride on the popularity of his brother and his band since she also ranted about their hometown of Bradord when a female fan said she loved the place.
What's ironic is that she was dissing her hometown right at the room of the Bradford home that Zayn bought for their family, worth £289,000 (about $453,000), which she shares with her 12-year-old sister Safaa, cites the Daily Star.
1D Splitting?
Doniya's revelation came after report that her brother and Harry Styles did not join their bandmates when they flew to Australia after winning in the American Music Awards last week to party in Los Angeles, reports the Daily Mail.
It was Niall Horan who spilled the beans on Harry and Zayn during an interview with Kyle and Jackie O last Nov. 26, which aired on Kiss FM, added the report.
"What happened there was, we'd just won three American Music Awards, and some people wanted to get straight to Australia and Harry here wanted to have a little party in Los Angeles," Horan said during the radio interview.
Harry Styles, who was with Niall during the radio interview, confirmed his bandmate's statement, quashing speculations and rumors that One Direction members are already splitting, cites the Daily Mail.
Aside from the partying, Styles added: "I also didn't feel very well so I didn't want to fly. I wanted to wait out the storm to fly. My ear hurts," justifying why he arrived 24 hours after his bandmates arrived in Australia.
