"American Idol" winner Jordin Sparks has reportedly used music to hit back at her former boyfriend Jason Derulo.
The new song entitled "How 'bout Now" is part of her mixtape dubbed as "Bye Felicia."
Listen to it here:
Before singing, Jordin was asked if she had a hard time bringing her emotions out in the new song. To which she responded to Billboard saying, "It has to be perfect before I can let it out. Life is too short. I think that people will be able to relate to that and feel than too."
E! Online said that the song which is a remix of Drake's "How Bout Now," is dedicated to Jason Derulo, Jordin's boyfriend for around three years.
The song starts with, "Feeling like I have to get all of this off my chest. I know you are sitting there thinking 'What is she going to do next?' Crazy thing about that last text you sent. Crazy like all these b--ches."
In the song, she also revealed and even reminded him that moment when she "deleted all her other guys' numbers out of her phone for him."
She also asked him if he still remembers that moment when she washed his back for him when he broke his neck. E! Online cited an interview with Jason back in 2013 where he admitted that Jordin was "very instrumental in his recovery." He also told them that the incident has made them even closer.
Jordin then said that he had probably forgotten half of the "s--t" she did for him.
The song continues, "You didn't really f--k with me way back then, but how bout now? 'Cause I'm up right now and you suck right now. You thought you had it all figured out back then boy, how 'bout now? 'Cause I'm up right now and you suck right now. You thought that little effort that you put in was enough boy how 'bout now?"
The singer also slammed Jason's being a "mommy's little angel." She also claimed that he started changing when he started being famous.
"Can't believe all the things you started saying, like I'm with you for your fame and your name," the song continued.
She also advised him to stop calling her and cited one incident where he "blew up" her phone calling and complaining.
According to The Daily Mail, Jordin earlier claimed that she has no ill-feeling toward Jason and that she is okay with being friends with him again. However, she said that both of them are busy with their own careers and that she wishes him best.
According to the Daily Mail, Jason broke up with Jordin through a phone call. Jordin on Wednesday revealed that she is willing to return the luxury BMW vehicle that Jason gave her. She however remained mum when she was asked if Jason cheated on her. Jordin claimed that she is feeling "good" and that she is "exploring...and finding new places to eat and meet new people."
Jason, in an earlier interview with E! Online, said he likes to be friends with Jordin but "it's hard" and added that he catches himself sometimes looking at her Instagram. He also said that he loves her and that "you just don't fall out of love with somebody like that."
Other songs included in Jordin's "Bye Felicia" are "Work From Home," "It Ain't You," "Gasoline," "Right Here, Right Now," "They Don't Give," "Left, Right," "Double Tap," and "11:11," according to Live Mix Tapes.
