The teaser trailer of the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," the seventh and latest installment to George Lucas' movie saga will be released on December 17.

Star Wars Episode 7 News reports that the much-awaited trailer for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will coincide with the showing of "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies," based on a hint from a film staff.

One movie fan, who was a friend of Thomas Gormley, the first assistant director of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," tweeted on November 19: "Had a talk (with) Thomas Gormley today. When asked about the teaser trailer for Star Wars VII, he said: 'You might wanna go see 'The Hobbit.''"

The Week also confirmed that the teaser trailer for the latest Star Wars movie will be out before Christmas.

"The official Star Wars 7 trailer will be screened within the next five weeks, reports suggest, provoking excitement and speculation among fans of the films," the report said.

Further supporting its assumption on the trailer's release date, Star Wars Episode 7 News also reported talking to a local theatre manager, who confirmed that it would be released along with the third installment of The Hobbit movie in December.

"Some online forums have suggested that the trailer for 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens" could be timed to coincide with the (showing of) the latest 'Hunger Games' film, but others say it is more likely that it will feature alongside a Disney film," cites The Week.

But the theater manager that Star Wars Episode 7 News talked to believes otherwise. "Companies, including Disney, aren't allowed to 'cross-promote' except for two times in a year because there are rules on this. But 'The Hobbit' comes out a year before 'Star Wars 7,' so it could be within the rules."

As to what fans can expect from the much anticipated teaser trailer, The Week quoted film blogger Devin Ferraci who said that based on his reliable film insiders, "the (first teaser) trailer will be no more than a minute long and will feature flashing images of the main characters backed by the Force theme played on woodwind instruments."

"The music will swell as full orchestra joins the original instrument and will build towards a soft female voice, possibly that of Daisy Ridley. It will end with the familiar yellow Star Wars logo and the new film's title, followed by a flash of the the Millennium Falcon, firing its weapons, flying straight at the camera," details Ferraci.

Disney has yet to confirm the exact release date of the movie's teaser trailer although it has already announced that "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will hit theaters on December 18, 2015.
