News of Brock Lesnar being completely recovered from diverticulitis may spell his return to the Octagon.

Though Lesnar is currently with the WWE where he is the current World Heavyweight Champion, his contract with WWE is set to expire in April 2015, opening the possibility of a return to the UFC. His close friend, Paul Heyman, previously said that Brock is almost back to 100 percent health and believes that a UFC return is likely.

Heyman previously told Fox Sports, "He's healthy. His body is not spending so much energy fighting off diverticulitis. He's healthy for the first time in years and I think his potential is limitless. He's a once-in-a-lifetime athlete. This is Jim Thorpe, Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain, Gordie Howe, Wayne Gretzky, this is a once-in-a-lifetime athlete. If Brock Lesnar ever fought healthy in the UFC, I don't see any fighter that could have touched him."

He added, "Anything you saw him do, he did as an unhealthy man competing at the very top level on the face of the planet. Imagine what he could have done if he was 100-percent healthy."

MMA Mania previously reported UFC president Dana White saying, "Brock Lesnar's under contract with the WWE. We have a great relationship with him. He's healthy and he has said that he's interested in fighting again. We'll see what happens."

In the same report by Fox Sports, Lesnar has not fought in the UFC since he lost against Alistair Overeem in December 2011. After WrestleMania in 2015, Lesnar will again return to free agent status and he can decide to either re-sign with the WWE or return to mixed martial arts. Lesnar will turn 38 years old next year, so if he is considering a return to the UFC, he has to grab the opportunity before he peaks out.

Regardless of the circumstances, WWE and UFC will definitely benefit from the PPV sales and media frenzy that Brock brings with him everywhere.

According to Bloody Elbow, former UFC heavyweight champion Lesnar fought in the UFC from 2008 to 2011, becoming the biggest draw of the business and helping the UFC raise pay-per-views during his reign. In a report by MMA Junkie, his fight against Frank Mir garnered a record 1.6 million PPV buys. He managed to defend his heavyweight title twice before being diagnosed with diverticulitis.

The life-threatening disease caused him to lose a lot of weight. He also had to go through several surgeries and had to stay out of both wrestling and MMA for almost two years.
