After the Cleveland Cavaliers lost against the Portland Trail Blazers on November 2 and the Utah Jazz on November 3, dropping to a 1-3 record, superstar LeBron James and point guard Kyrie Irving were said to have exchanged words in the locker room.

A report by CBS Sports revealed that James and Irving had a heated conversation in the locker room after the Blazers crushed the Cavs with a 101-82 victory. On Tuesday night, the discussion was viewed as healthy, based on insiders. James reportedly shared his concerns about how the team was running offense. LeBron scored only 11 points and did not score in the second half in their game against the Blazers.

James said to the media after the Blazers game in the same CBS Sports report, "There's a lot of bad habits, a lot of bad habits been built up the past couple years. When you play that style of basketball, it takes a lot to get it up out of you." He added, "But I'm here to help, and that's what it's about."

Cleveland.com wrote how LeBron challenged Irving to become a better playmaker. The team was primarily expecting Kyrie to "feed" their preferred scorers, LeBron and Kevin Love. However, Irving's talk with James on Tuesday did not seem to rub on him, considering how he scored 34 points and had zero assists in their game against the Utah Jazz. The Cavs had a total of six assists on 30 made shots at the end of the game. The Jazz won 102-100 via a clutch shot by Gordon Hayward.

In an ESPN report, Kyrie said, "Just taking what the defense gave me, not necessarily any calls. Whatever the defense was giving me, I was willing to take. I was just trying to collapse the defense."

James said, "There's no way you're going to win a basketball game like that, just having six assists." He added, "We had two in the first half, we had four in the second half and we had actually four [total] until the last minute and a half of the game. We just can't win like that, and we got to figure out a way to help each other and not make it so tough."

Irving commented on the team's low assist stat saying, "No, no, no. We have great players on this team. Sometimes, things happen in the game, and you have to take it. Me and 'Bron saw that at the end of the game. We gave guys ample opportunities; guys just weren't hitting."
