Something is happening with the force, and Star Wars fans are celebrating as Episode 7 has finally been given a title "The Force Awakens."

According to Entertainment Weekly, the reveal of the film's title came after filming wrapped up. Director JJ Abrams and the cast have worked on the film throughout the summer, in Pinewood Studios in London and in Abu Dhabi as well.

The Abu Dhabi setting, according to Rolling Stone, may be because Abrams is trying to recreate Luke Skywalker's home planet, Tatooine, with its desert landscapes.

There is not much information regarding "The Force Awakens" but it is sure to be set after the events of "Return of the Jedi."

A theory from USA Today, however, thinks that the title may refer to the new characters introduced in the film - the "force," after all, is the elements where the Jedi Knights get their power, and the awakening could be the introduction of new Jedi's in the story.

It is also a combination of old and new parts: Original cast members Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill are sure to be seen, in the new film, together with "Star Wars" newbies Adam Driver, Andy Serkins, and Max Von Sydow.

Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o is also part of the ensemble, along with "Game of Thrones" actress Gwendoline Christie.

Ngyong'o and Christie's participation in the film excited Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy. According to ABC News, she told starwars.com, "I could not be more excited about Lupita and Gwendoline joining the cast of Episode VII. It's thrilling to see this extraordinarily talented ensemble taking shape."

She's not the only one who's excited for the film. C-3PO (Anthony Daniels) tweeted. "No movie sequel is better than The Empire Strikes Back." You might eat those words for Xmas dinner in 2015. Joy & Indigestion to the world!"

Are you excited for the force to wake?

"Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens" opens on December 18, 2015.
