One of the most awaited fashion shows of the year is coming up, and the Angels are going to grace it with not one, but two fantasy bras this year during the most-awaited Victoria's Secret Fashion Show on December.
The Angels to don the bras this year are Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima, wearing intimates with $2 million price tags.
According to E! News, the bras, which were made by Pascal Mouawad, have diamonds, rubies, and sapphires sewn together in an intricate design. The sets contain around 16,000 gems each and each shining with 10,000 carats worth. The body pieces also come with 18-karat-gold accessories that include arm, leg, stomach, and neck pieces. Together, the lingerie sets took 1,380 hours to make.
The bras were also revealed on Good Morning America on Monday, with Ambrosio and Lima to help with the unveiling.
Lima said, "This year, it's really exciting because it's the first time that we're going to have two Fantasy Bras on the fashion show. I'm honored to be here with Alessandra, doing the show, walking the runway together. I cannot wait."
The pair have been close even off-camera, and they are ecstatic about donning the Fantasy Bras together. Ambrosio told People, "Due to our schedules, Adriana and I don't get to see each other much so I really enjoyed spending time together on set, chatting and catching up about our kids and mutual friends."
Lima also added, "Alessandra and I always have so much fun together. Underneath all of the hair and makeup, we're just two silly girls from Brazil who always make each other laugh!"
The bras may be incredibly expensive, but this pair is not the most over-the-top pricetag that VS has put on their fantasy bras. Candice Swanepoel wore one of the most expensive designs in last year's $10Million design, while Heidi Klum and Gisele Bundchen wore the priciest ones yet at $12.5 million designs in 2001 and 2005.
Despite Ambrosio and Lima's enthusiasm and excitement, this isn't the first time for them to be wearing the most expensive lingerie in the annual fashion show, either. Lima wore the Fantasy Bra in 2008 and 2010, which cost $5 million and $2 million respectively, while Ambrosio wore the 2012 bra worth $2.5 million.
This year's fashion show will be held in London instead of the traditional NYC show with the runway presentation to be aired on CBS on December 9.
