LeBron James may be among the most serious on the basketball court but his humorous antics off the hardwood almost always never fail to impress.
The Cavs scoring leader is no stranger to wearing costumes. In the past, he dressed up as Danny Zuko from the film "Grease", pulling a few signature moves as he walked into the arena, in a report by Fansided.com. He also had a king's robe, crown and scepter on when the Miami Heat danced to the catchy tune of "Harlem Shake" during his time in Miami.
For Halloween 2014, the NBA superstar dressed up as "FloBron". In a report by SB Nation, he got paid to wear a shoulder-length brunette wig and blue headband by Progressive Insurance. He had a white sleeveless Progressive workout shirt and white shorts on. He also had a white apron, nametag and accessories on to complete the look. He was holding a basketball with a smug look on his face. It was LeBron's way of sharing his newly formed partnership with the company.
Complex.com reported that James also had his Lebron Soldier VIII's on, paired with blue socks, instead of the classic Chuck Taylors.
LeBron went to Facebook on October 31 to share the news and his funny photo, in an article by Bleacher Report. The Cleveland Cavalier added the caption, "Happy Halloween #FloBron #Switch #IPROMISE." Bleacher Report wrote that if social media users look closely, they will notice that James is standing in the middle of the gleaming basketball court of his alma mater - the Saint Vincent-Saint Mary high school. Based on the picture, the green and white bleachers of the court are behind him and he is standing close to the inbound line with a few letters of the school's name painted on the hardwood.
The photo has gone viral and has since garnered over 240,000 likes over 7,000 comments and over 13,000 shares.
FloBron has appeared in several Progressive advertisements to the delight of fans. Many spread the photo via social media and shared their reaction to the funny Halloween attire.
In an article on WaitingForNextYear.com, some people speculated that the idea of LeBron turning into FloBron might have started sometime in 2012. One user tweeted in January 2012, "Gee, thanks LeBron! "@KingJames: I love "Flo" from the progressive commercials! She's hilarious in her own way".
LeBron tweeted a few days later, based on on the same WaitingForNextYear.com report, "I tweeted about "Flo" the other day from the commercials! In no way shape or form was I trying to promote them or what they do!!"
