The 1.18 update to "Grand Theft Auto 5 Online" is expected to arrive today, being the last day of October, and shall contain the rumored zombie DLC.

While game developer Rockstar has yet to confirm the release date for the "GTA 5 Online" and also the rumored zombie DLC, Product Reviews seems to indicate that both will come out today, reports the Australian edition of the International Business Times.

"A GTA V zombie DLC release date has been the subject of intense rumors recently and Rockstar could finally end the speculation this week with an update right on the eve of October 31," cites Product Reviews.

The zombie DLC is also timely because it's Halloween and the celebration will carry through the weekend most likely, adds the report.

Speculations that Rockstar is about to release the 1.18 update to "GTA 5 Online" and the widely-rumored DLC heightened further when the company announced a seven-hour shutdown to its servers on October 29, reports China Topix.

GTA enthusiasts believe that seven hours is just too long for Rockstar to be simply conducting periodic maintenance or fixing game mods. The company is likely laying down the groundwork for the 1.18 update, China Topix opined.

It also hinted that the 1.18 update could be the Heists DLC that GTA fans have long been waiting for months, but given the occasion, it could also very well be the Halloween DLC.

Product Reviews has enabled gamers to become privy to the Halloween DLC upon seeing the latest GTA trailer for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC that featured zombie right on the 0.28 second mark of the 1 minute and 15 seconds clip.

Holiday-Related DLCs

"It is almost a foregone conclusion that Rockstar will give a Halloween update for "GTA 5 Online." They always do each year with their games that are relevant," reports Product Reviews.

China Topix recounts that Rockstar has been releasing holiday-related DLCs to its games in the past.

"The company released the 'Undead Nightmare' feature in 'Red Dead Redemption' during last year's Halloween. It has also released 'The Independence Day Special' DLCs for 'GTA 5 Online' in July. So a Halloween DLC is very likely," the report observed.

Product Reviews also revealed that GTA gamers were able to spot a source code that pertains to the zombie DLC. The code apparently hinted of a single-player, instead of multiplayer mode, for the zombie DLC in "GTA 5 Online."
