Adidas fans can now look forward to the release of John Wall's first signature shoe - the J Wall 1. The shoe brand previously released the new Crazy Light basketball shoes, represented by Damian Lillard.
Adidas said about the J Wall 1, "Adidas today unveiled the J Wall 1 signature basketball shoe and apparel collection - the first in a line of signature products designed for Washington Wizards NBA All-Star point guard, John Wall. The J Wall 1 features a sleek, bold design inspired by Wall's quick on-court play and fashion forward off-court style."
Bleacher Report wrote that the J Wall 1 will officially be released on October 31, 2014. It will be available at Adidas.com and Foot Locker stores in two colorways. The first is the "home" colorway while the second is the "black/grey" colorway. More colorways are expected to be out in the following months.
The J Wall 1 was also featured in a new Foot Locker x Adidas advertisement, taking on a funny perspective on what might happen if the Washington Wizards point guard decides to move toward the dark side. Sneaker News also shared the video commercial dubbed "The Process", which showcased scenes on the good then bad things that Wall would go through after he wins a championship ring and retires.
CBS Sports reported that the new pair will feature Wall's new logo. His initials "JW" will be visible on the tongue, with the letter J crossing over the W. It was inspired by Wall's quickness and aggressiveness while handling the ball on the hardwood. The initials also salute his father, who died when Wall was only nine years old.
Wall added, "Coming off my best season in the NBA and now launching the J Wall 1 that has my own logo is an incredible feeling. I feel really blessed to have my own signature line and I think my fans and basketball players are going to love playing in this shoe. It's also a shoe with great colors and materials that you can dress up off the court which is really important to me."
The J Wall 1 will be available at a retail price of $115, based on the same CBS Sports report. The shoes will also be released with other related apparels and accessories ranging from $25 to $60.
