One student from Sheffield showed gamers how to deal with the impossibly difficult game "FIFA 14".
In a report by Yahoo! Sports, 19-year-old Oly Bell had "The Rage" after attempting multiple shots to no avail then suddenly having his opponent score a goal with minimal effort.
A video showed Oly and his friends hanging out in a bedroom playing the football-based video game. According to Mirror, he and his friends Lewis George and Jamie Hodkinson were participating in a "FIFA 14" tournament on their PlayStation 3. Apparently, his opponent scored a goal, which immediately triggered Oly to stand up from his cozy spot to unplug the game console. He proceeded towards the window with the game console then threw it out, together with a controller and cardboard box. His friends were laughing the entire time.
The report by Mirror notes that Bell was playing Norwich which lost in the final seconds to Leeds, played by Lewis. Oly can be seen on the video, which lasts just over one minute, losing his temper and screaming profanities while he dumped the expensive console out the window.
Bell said to the publication, "We had cooked a meal before hand and we had a rule, whoever lost the tournament had to clean up." He continued, "I was all over Lewis for the whole game, I had tons of shots and I was getting madder by the minute so that's why people started recording." He added, "He only had one shot and he managed to score it so it sparked my rage, I'd had enough!"
One friend was laughing the whole time while rolling on the bed. The other recorded the incident using his mobile phone. After Bell threw out the device, he went back on the bed and tampers with his laptop as if nothing happened.
In the Mirror report, he was asked a year later whether he felt better about the game. Bell replied, "Absolutely f***ing not!"
Though the video was first uploaded a year ago, in November 2013, it ignited an online frenzy after it was repeatedly shared among "FIFA 14" and "FIFA 15" enthusiasts. In another Mirror piece, some gamers do agree that "FIFA" tends to be frustrating at times, which also make them want to throw out the console at times. Nine of 10 anger management therapists say that the young student's reactions to the game are absolutely normal.
