Zack Snyder's much anticipated film "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" may have a female Robin, rumors put it.
The same rumors swirling around also indicate that actress and musician Jena Malone may actually get the part of the female Robin. Unconfimed leaked photos of the movie also point to Malone playing the part.
The Inquisitr reported that Malone was also seen in recent photos sporting bright red hair. Many believe that such is a sign that the actress could actually be cast as the Dynamic Duo's other half, the site notes.
The report also pointed out that Jena Malone is a good friend of movie director Zack Snyder. She was reportedly seen visiting the set during its early production in Detroit and was also hanging out with Zack.
Earlier rumors had it that Jena could be cast in the movie as Supergirl, another DC superhero, or superheroine to be exact.
However, the Inquisitr also came up with a disclaimer in its report, stating that "Jena Malone's red hair may have nothing to do with her rumoured casting as Robin, since (Batman's partner) has (always) been depicted as sporting dark hair."
Cinema Blend also alluded to the possibility of Malone playing the female Robin.
After being seen in the movie set in Detroit several months ago, Malone was believed to be playing Carrie Kelley, the Robin from "The Dark Knight Returns."
The speculations grew further when Malone posted a picture of herself on Instagram with a red hair similar to Kelley's, Cinema Blend said.
But it also said that Jena sporting a red hair may just be coincidence. "She could be dying her hair for another role, or perhaps she just felt like being a redhead. However, the idea of her playing Kelley isn't entirely weird," states Cinema Blend.
IMDb reports that the "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" would have a release date of March 25, 2016.
Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman leads the cast along with Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman/Arthur Curry, and Gel Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman,
