Floyd Mayweather Sr. said on Wednesday that he wants Amir Khan as the next opponent of his son Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr.

The older Mayweather said he wants the fight to shut the mouth of the Pakistan-born boxer who's a native of Bolton, England, reports the Franchise Herald.

Amir Khan is a former junior welterweight champion who has been looking to get a date in the ring with the pound-for-pound king since last year.

"Lookie here, ain't no way in hell...man, he can't out-think Floyd on Floyd's worst day. I'm here to tell you that I'ma be there and I'ma make sure every time he throw a punch, he gonna get countered. He gonna get punished, believe me," the Floyd Sr. was quoted in an interview by Fighthype.

The world-class trainer was reacting to statements constantly being issued by Khan, saying that his hand speed is the necessary tool to penetrating Mayweather's defense.

Good defense has been Mayweather's arsenal in defeating larger and more powerful punchers, says Khan in a report by Sports World News.

The father of "Money" thinks Khan is biting off more than he could chew, claiming that there is more to speed than simply throwing punches quickly or in succession, cites the same report.

"Speed is all about timing. It ain't got nothing to do with how fast you are or how fast you throw your punches. If a guy got your timing, you gonna miss him, and if he come back with a punch, you gonna get hit. One thing about all that, he ain't got the mind Floyd got," the older Mayweather was quoted by Sports World News as saying.

The Floyd Sr. is so convinced that the Briton has no chance against his son, even alluding that a fight with Manny Pacquiao would be tougher for Floyd Jr.

"Ain't no way in hell you (Khan) gonna whoop no Floyd. You crazy! Man, lookie here, he gonna find out. After Floyd get done putting this whoopin' on your ass, you ain't gonna know your way across the street. Floyd's gonna punish him," he told Fighthype.

Mayweather Sr. also recounted how people behind Amir Khan once sought his help to train the Briton.

In explaining how he nearly trained Khan, Floyd Sr. even took a swipe at Freddie Roach, the world-class trainer and coach of Pacquiao.

"They wanted me to train him [Khan] one day, but my pads wasn't there. It just wasn't meant to be, so it didn't happen. I didn't get a chance to train him, so after awhile, they went and got (to) Freddie 'The Joke Coach' Roach, who wouldn't dare to approach," says Floyd Sr.

Boxing News 24 reports that Mayweather Jr. could make a lot of money fighting Khan, be it in the United States or England. But it did not disclose any figures.

In October last year, The Daily Mail hinted that a Mayweather-Khan fight could be a $200 million blockbuster.
