A new report has alleged that a member of the management of 5 Seconds of Summer had verbally abused three teen female fans of the band.
According to to Direct Lyrics, the fans saw the boys of 5SOS "walking the Miami streets late at night and their only objective was to take a picture with them."
"Apparently this occurred last night (Oct. 5) mere hours after 5SOS played their last American show opening for One Direction's 'Where We Are' tour in Miami, Florida," the site continued. "After having a few celebratory drinks, the lads began making their way back to their hotel."
It was at this point that the boys were spotted by the trio of fans.
"At first, the band's security guard prevented the girls from asking Calum and Co. for selfies by blocking their way," the news source went on. Then, even after the band members passed through the doors of the alleged hotel and were waiting for the elevator, the girls were said to have continued "screaming" for "just one picture" with the boys.
At this, one of the members of the group's management walked out and addressed the girls in a way that was perceived by some as "rude." The encounter was captured on video by one of the girls. (See below)
"We didn't ask you to buy their music. That's your choice," the person in question was heard saying to the girls in the clip.
It can also be observed that one of the boys, Luke, had hung back, perhaps wishing to give the gals a favor. However, a guard seemed to advise him otherwise and ushered him back into the hotel.
Was that individual from the 5SOS team rude when he spoke with the fans? You tell us in the comments below.
Meanwhile, Billboard had reported that One Direction "holds a financial stake in 5SOS."
"The five members of 1D, which also includes Harry Styles, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan, own a share of London-based company 5SOS LLP," the site said. "The registered partners listed for the company are the four members of 5SOS and One Mode Productions, whose directors include the five members of 1D."
Based on documents, 1D has a 50% share while the managers have the other 50.
"Looking at 5SOS music sales so far, for instance -- 788,000 albums and EPs and 2.4 million song downloads sold, per Nielsen SoundScan -- that would amount to $250,000 in earnings for Modest and 1D, or $25,000 added to each 1D member's bank account, Billboard estimates. Consider bigger revenue generators like merchandise, and 1D could see far greater returns," the music news site reported.
No wonder the boys of One Direction are actively promoting 5 Seconds of Summer. Perhaps they could also advise the Aussie band on the best way to treat fans?
