One of the easiest ways to bring two sets of fans together is to put two shows together for a crossover episode, and that has always been that way in television.
"The Simpsons" - "Family Guy" crossover got a lot of hype on the internet, and although it was hardly perfect, it was still considered one of the best ever.
Here are the top 5 funniest moments from the episode:
Duff vs Pawtucket Patriot Ale
Beer lovers all have their beer preference, but with the fans crying over Seth MacFarlane ripping off Duff for his own beer brand, the writers addressed the issue by adding it in the episode itself. And lo and behold, Mo revealed that Peter's Pawtucket is just Duff covered up with another brand name, which caused CinemaBlend to give credit for MacFarlane for targeting himself in addressing the issue, saying that it was a "quality decision."
Bart and Stewie Bonding
Stewie has always been a bit... evil, as far as babies go, but he does think too much like an adult, thereby it was a breath of fresh air when, for the first time, he found inspiration in one of the world's favorite rascals - Bart Simpson himself, which started when he found delightful Bart's catchphrase, "eat my shorts!" But because Stewie can't change just like that, he led a kidnapping spree for every person who ever gave Bart problems, which involves Nelson literally eating Stewie's shorts.
Homer and Peter Car Wash Scene
The dads get their sexy on to bring car owners to their yard in a car washing scene that, if it weren't for the show being an animation, it would have been pretty disturbing to watch two pot-bellied guys getting sexy for Springfield's criminal underworld, but because it is a Homer-Peter tandem, you can bet it's "Roll on the floor laughing" kind of funny.
Marge Puts Brian in his place
It was simple and brilliant when Marge questions Brian for his desire to eat with the humans at the dinner table. "Oh, I was under the impression that you were a dog. ... Have you ever drunk out of a toilet? ... Dogs eat in the kitchen." On a side note, TV Line also questioned why Brian felt like he was too good for Santa's Little Helper, because, Brian is, technically, still a dog.
The unexpected cameos
It is one thing to know about the Family Guy / Simpsons crossover, but with The Wrap noting appearances from Bob (of Bob's Burgers) and Roger (from American Dad) as well as the possible appearance by Matt Groening at the courtroom, the episode is definitely something that fans from both shows love.
