Colin Kaepernick had one amusing play during the San Francisco 49ers game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The 49ers lost their last two games coming into the game on Sunday, September 28. Quarterback of the 49ers, Colin Kaepernick, initially struggled but managed to avoid the team's third straight loss by throwing a crazy touchdown pass to Frank Gore.

The below shows the first play of the second half, where the Eagles appeared as if they effectively contained Kaepernick on the left side of the field. According to NJ.com, Kaepernick had the attention of all players on the field, leaving running back Frank Gore wide open on the opposite side. Kaepernick clearly spotted Gore and leaped up in an odd manner, throwing the football across his body in unorthodox fashion. He seemed to be knocked back a bit as he released the ball, tiptoeing and flailing his arms to regain his balance. Gore stepped back a few feet to catch the ball and ran for a 55-yard touchdown. Safety Earl Wolff mistimed the tackle and was pushed off by Gore on the way to the end zone.

In a report by NFL.com, the 55-yard touchdown was Frank Gore's career-best. He ran a total of 119 yards. Kaepernick also had a touchdown pass to Steve Johnson while Phil Dawson contributed four field goal kicks to win the game 26-21, serving the Eagles their first loss of the season. Gore said after the game, "Coach Rathman told me all week, he keeps telling me all the time when I fake the ball, stay alive for Kap to keep the play alive and get me the ball."

49ers coach Jim Harbaugh said about the pass, "Kap did a great job keeping his eyes upfield. I had no idea. When he stopped, pulled it up and started to throw, I didn't know where he was going with the ball."

The Eagles entered the game with a 3-0 record. However, the 49ers effectively contained Nick Foles, who threw a couple of incomplete passes in the final minutes of the game. Darren Sproles scored a touchdown via a career-best 82-yard punt return. Brad Smith also got a blocked punt to score a touchdown, while Malcolm Jenkins scored a 53-yard touchdown after an interception. They suffered much from their turnovers, having allowed three non-offensive touchdowns. The last time the Eagles had that many non-offensive touchdowns was in 1965. The Eagles also became the second team in NFL history to have an interception return, punt return and blocked punt for a touchdown in a single game, in a report by Pressdemocrat.com.
