More trailers and developments of "NBA 2K15" are being revealed as the October 7 launch date of the game nears.
One new development featured in the game is quite interesting though. Rapper and soundtrack curator Pharrell will appear in one of the game's cutscenes. In an article by Bleacher Report, the rapper, in all his track-jacket swag, will be making an appearnce on the MyCareer mode of the basketball title. Including his signature Mountie hat.
The short video on Instagram posted by Pharrell himself, featured 2K Digital Marketing Director, Ronnie Singh's created player approaching Pharrell and the latter giving him compliments. Pharrell and the player also exchanged fist bumps. Singh talked about having a lot of love and respect for Pharell's work. The rapper responded, "Likewise. You've been turning it up lately, making a name for yourself. Caught my attention for sure." The scene faded and the game title and release date followed.

Considering how Pharrell was given the distinction of being the official curator of the new game, it was speculated that he would also be visually presented in the game. Fans noticed how 2K Sports successfully scanned and made a realistic version of therapper in the game, replicating everything properly, including his sneakers, jacket, hat and facial features. Some people, however, commented that the new judge of "The Voice" was unrealistically tall in the scene, giving the impression that he almost had the same height as an NBA player.
2K Sports has released a number of trailers in the past several weeks, showcasing its latest 3D face-scanning technology, which will be incorporated in the MyCareer mode. Gamers can have their own photos scanned in-game to create a virtual version of themselves and start the journey towards building an NBA career. Pharrell's scanned image showed how life-like the face details can be.
In a report by USA Today, fans were poking fun at Pharrell's goofy hat and how he managed to appear in various forms of media like movie trailers, Spotify and TV advertisements. Gamers should expect to spot the rapper and his buffalo hat at courtside in some NBA games as well.
According to IGN.com, Pharrell revealed that his soundtrack curation will be the biggest ever in the game franchise as well as the "most eclectic". According to Pharrell, he had female staff members give suggestions while he was arranging the list. In mid-August 2014, the full list of the tracks for NBA 2K15 were introduced, featuring 27 songs by artists like Lorde, Public Enemy, Lauryn Hill, Busta Rhymes and others. Previously, 2K Sports had Jay-Z and LeBron James curate the soundtrack.
