"Two and a Half Men" has given viewers tons of laughs for almost 12 years on television, and season 12 of the series, premiering at the end of October, will mark the end of the series. Characters have changed over time, even died, and one of them wants to be there for the final curtain call.
That, however, will be a bit difficult to do. Three years ago, actor Charlie Sheen had a very public fight with "Two and a Half Man" creator, Chuck Lorre, calling the latter a "stupid little man."
Because of that, he was dropped from the series and was banned from the Warner Brothers Television lot altogether. He then proceeded onto more public fallout with Warner Brothers, his co-stars, and, according to UPI.com, basically everyone involved in the show's production. To get him off everyone else's back, his character was killed off by the 2011-2012 season, and he was never to be seen on "Two and a Half Man" ever again.
Until the show finale, probably, as he expressed his interest in being in it.
Sheen's character has been killed off though, so how is he going to be able to go back for the show's final episodes? That hasn't been discussed yet, but according to the actor, his return would be an act of "good will and a tip of the hat to the fans."
The actor told TV Guide, "I've reached out to [Two and a Half Men's producers and writing staff] and they've reached back. We're trying to figure out what makes the most sense. If they figure it out like I've presented it to them and they want to include me in some final send-off, I'm available and I'm showing up early. If not, it's on them."
But after the rift that caused numerous lawsuits, has Lorre decided to let bygones be bygones? Sheen said there's peace between them already, though, not in person. "Ethereally we have, personally we have not. But I'm easy to grab. He was doing his job, I was doing mine. At the end of the day, the guy's a genius. Look at what he does. I don't have to spend time with him anymore for him to be brilliant. I wish him nothing but the best."
Lorre and Warner Brothers has not yet responded to Sheen's comments.
Do you think Sheen should be back for season 12?
"Two and a Half Man" returns for its 12th season on October 30 on CBS.
