Fox's hit new comedy, 'New Girl,' returns later this September with everyone's favorite roommates for its second season. Rumors have circulated over the fate of each character after last season's entertaining season finale.
With all four roommates and Jess's friend CeCe (Hannah Simone) back for season two, fans can expect more laughs and memorable moments.
Jake Johnson, who plays Nick, and Max Greenfield, who plays Schmidt, told Wetpaint just what's in store for their characters. According to Johnson, Nick and Jess' (Zooey Deschanel) relationship will finally be explored this season.
While nothing is concrete, Johnson told Wetpaint, "They finally start talking about some of the stuff that some of the fans have been commenting on and a lot of the people have been saying they feel like the show is going in that direction. These characters finally address it, to one another, of where they are kind of at with it."
As for Schmidt and CeCe? While the couple split up during the season finale, that does not mean the end of the relationship completely. Greenfield told Wetpaint that he believes the twosome is "finding that friend zone."
Apart from relationship drama, fans can expect a batch of hilarious moments for the upcoming season. Schmidt will be having a penis cast removal party along with a slew of new guest stars, including David Walton, Leslie Mann and Raymond Berry.
Executive producer Liz Meriwether also told Entertainment Weekly that Deschanel's character will not only be getting fired, but will also be getting she described as a "f--k buddy." As if things were not chaotic enough for poor Jess, her parents will also be making an appearance, Entertainment Weekly reported.
'New Girl' season 2 premieres on September 25 at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.
