It's always good to know when a friend has your back, the way Josh Hutcherson defended his BFF, Jennifer Lawrence, after the photo leak scandal that involved her and many other actresses.
In defense for his friend, Hutcherson told ET Canada "We're people too, man; we just want to live, we want to be normal people. It's not fair."
He went on, saying, "I think everyone has their own way of getting through it. It's something you obviously don't want to happen to you and its really unfortunate that it happens but, I don't know. I hate the way the world sort of views those sorts of issues. It's really, truly not fair.
"We are actors, we didn't get into this because we wanted scandal," Hutcherson, 21, added. "We want to live our lives and be actors and like Jen and I always say...people say, 'Well, you chose to be an actor, you are going to have to deal with this kind of thing.' Well, no. We didn't choose to have public scandal, we chose to become artists of acting and I love making movies. This is what I can do, this is what I am good at. So it's like, because this is what I am good at and this is my career means I also have to suffer on this other side? Like, it's not very fair."
And it's not. As Hollywood Life stressed, "The Fappening" as it was called, was not much of a scandal as it was a violation of privacy as well as theft.
Hutcherson himself was a victim of another alleged naked photo hack in 2013 and can relate to what his "Hunger Games: Mockingjay" co-star is going through.
In an interview with the Daily Beast, he said, "We act because it's what we want to do. I've acted since I was 9 years old because it's my job, it's what I'm good at, and it's what I love to do. I don't want attention. I don't want to have my private life looked into or have people think they deserve to know about my private life. And then people say, 'Well, then you shouldn't have become an actor.' F**k that. I didn't choose all that. I chose to be an actor. I was 9 years old! Do you think a 9-year-old is thinking about public scandal? I wanted to make movies."
According to the Huffington Post, Lawrence, on the other hand, is keeping her silence on the matter. A spokesperson for the actress, however, did make a statement, saying that "This is a flagrant violation of privacy. The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence."
