Ariana Grande sent tongues wagging again at her iHeartRadio performance when she became cozy with rumored boyfriend, Big Sean, on stage. But the more shocking news is that Ariana is reportedly becoming a full-grown diva.
With several hits under her belt, Ariana seemed to have made it as a bonafide superstar singer at the tender age of 21. But is fame getting into her head?
Multiple reports are saying that Ariana, who has been dubbed as "baby Mariah" for her impressive vocal range, is said to be following the famous diva's steps in terms of making outrageous demands.
While in Australia for an engagement, The Courier-Mail said that the invited Australian media were forbidden to talk to the singer on the following topics: Mariah Carey, her defunct Nickelodeon show, "Sam & Cat," the death of her grandfather, and her past and current relationships. Chris Pavlich, a photographer for mX, reportedly had an interesting experience with Ariana's staff.
The site wrote, "Grande's first sitting for mX newspaper was a stop-start affair, with the singer checking each frame after it was taken and asking for shots she wasn't pleased with to be deleted.
"After a few minutes she left the hotel suite, complaining to her reps that she was unhappy with how her top looked in the poses."
And apparently, it didn't end there.
"After another 20 minutes of waiting for Grande to switch outfits, one of her representatives returned, demanding the mX photographer delete all his photos.
"The photogrpaher refused - and was later approached by a member of the singer's security team who attempted to prevent him from closing the tailgate on his car as he stowed his equipment," The Courier Mail added.
Buzzfeed said that Ariana's supposed diva behavior was first observed when her falling out with "Sam & Cat" co-star, Jennette McCurdy, became a hot topic on the Internet. The two were exchanging cryptic banter purportedly for each other.
A concerned dad, Dan O'Connor, aired his issues with the starlet and her camp through a blog post, Buzzfeed added. His daughters, who won an Ariana meet-and-greet contest, purportedly received an icy reception from the singer. He wrote, "She never bothered to even ask anyone their name. She didn't inquire as to who the contest winners were, as opposed to their guests, or what they created to win the right to meet her."
Perezhilton quoted Ariana, who has since responded to the diva allegations in the Aussie podcast "Guy, Sharyn and Clint." She said, "Sometimes it's very important how people will run away with a story and completely '180' what actually happened because I try to just keep it real and just say 'hi', shake hands, answer the questions they want to ask, and that's it. Sometimes people don't have anything to give but negativity and that's really unfortunate. I don't react in a negative way because I don't want to give them more of what they already have. I feel like those people need the most love sometimes so I try to just ignore it. It is really unfortunate though sometimes when that can happen - especially when my fans can believe it or when they'll be like, 'Are you okay?' I am okay. I don't see that stuff. I don't look at it. I don't acknowledge it. I don't give into it. I'm not not a victim of it. I'm not afraid of it and I'm okay."
Now, going back to Ariana's iHeartRadio performance with Big Sean, are their sweet moments on stage proof of their blossoming relationship? Celebuzz noted that the singer had no qualms getting cozy with her rumored boyfriend in a couple of occasions. The first one was at the backstage of this year's MTV Video Music Awards, wherein footage of her and Big Sean holding hands were seen on live broadcast. Their "Best Mistake" duet recently had some of her followers thinking that love is in the air.
