"The Big Bang Theory" Season 8 opens on September 22 and the first episode will shed more light on Sheldon's adventures and misadventures during his cross-country head-clearing trip and how he ended up in his underwear.
When Season 7 ended, fans were treated to a big leap in Sheldon and Amy's relationship -- they can now hold hands and even share a kiss. Whether this goes further in the upcoming Season, showrunner, Steve Molaro, shared that while it's tempting to bring the slow-burn romance to a whole new level, it's simply not in their characters -- at least just yet.
In a report from The Inquisitr, Molaro said: "They're on the same trajectory that they've been on since they met, and that is she is continuing to drag him along into this relationship, whether he wants to admit that he likes it or not... We're always moving them forward in baby steps."
In the first episode, titled "The Locomotion Interruption," Sheldon takes a solo trip to clear his head from how the previous season ended. It is said to be set 45 days after the kiss.
According to Molaro, in an interview with TVLine, Sheldon was robbed in Arizona, but instead of calling Amy, he asked Leonard to come pick him up and rescue him. "His belongings have been stolen and he needs Leonard to pick him up in Arizona. Amy's not pissed at him for leaving, but she's certainly not thrilled that when he ran into trouble, he called Leonard instead of her," Molaro was quoted as saying.
When they come to the rescue, spoiler photos on InsideTV show that Sheldon will be in his underwear. So, no, he won't be totally in the nude; but for someone like Mr. Cooper, that's major.
As for the rest of the gang, the CBS released logline reveals that Penny, who will be sporting a new shorter hairdo, will give up her acting career and will be interviewing to become a pharmaceutical representative for Bernadette's company. This change in Penny's direction leads her to become more stable financially, which will eventually cause some tension in her and Leonard's relationship.
Molaro added a tiny bit of detail about Raj's new girlfriend, Emily in his TVLine chat. "We're going to explore more of her personality and what she's really like," he said.
Of course, the season also goes deeper into Stuart's relationship to Mrs. Wolowitz and how Howard responds to this.
