Jordan XX9 'Team Orange' & 'Gym Red' Release Date & Price: Where to Buy?

Jordan Brand enthusiasts are looking forward to September 6 to grab either or both pairs of the new Jordan XX9 colorways.

The Jordan XX9 "Team Orange" and Jordan XX9 "Gym Red" will officially release on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. EDT.

As the name suggests, it will be the 29th version of the successful Air Jordan series. It is the first basketball shoe in the world specifically made for flight. For almost three decades, Jordan Brand has established a reputation for creating highly aesthetic basketball shoes that boasts of excellent performance.

According to Nike, the Air Jordan XX9 features two main innovative technologies -- the improved Flight Plate and performance-woven upper. The Flight Plate protects players' soles so there's always a smooth transition from the front to the back of the feet when stepping and running. The woven upper provides ultimate comfort and durability so players feel as if their pair was specifically made to suit their foot's shape.

Both pairs will be available at a retail price of $225. The "Team Orange" colorway features a blue icy sole, black carbon fiber, midsole and woven upper. There are hints of dark gray patterns throughout the midsole and upper to give the shoes more character. On the heel side of the upper material, there is a large orange Jumpman. The shoelaces and tongue are also black, although there is a large orange "23" on the tongue. An orange Jumpman is also located on the soles near the toe area.

The "Gym Red" Air Jordan XX9 has a more distinct design than the "Team Orange". The sole is black with a white JumpMan near the toe area. The midsole features the famous elephant print in black. The carbon fiber, parts of the upper, tongue and shoelaces are also black. The toe area and sides of the upper feature the elephant print bordered by Gym Red lines. A white Jumpman is found on the side of the upper near the back of the shoe. At the heel, a white "23" is placed at the center of the elephant print, again bordered by Gym Red lines. A white Jumpman appears on the tongue.

In a report by Sneakernews.com, the Air Jordan XX9 "Team Orange" and "Gym Red" will only be limited to one pair per customer. Buyers can purchase at selected Nike retail outlets and boutiques. They can also order only at Nike.com, Footlocker.com and Eastbay.com. Finish Line, Flight Club and House of Hoops will also be selling the pairs in limited numbers.
