When reality star Khloe Kardashian started dating rapper French Montana, the rumor mill said that the Kardashian matriarch, Kris Jenner, reportedly doesn't like the guy. However, in May this year, Kris dispelled the talk by posting a selfie with the artist on Instagram and captioning the snap with "I love you papi @frenchmontana #nobunight."
So she does approve of Khloe's new man.
And now, it's been whispered that the momager actually paid the 29-year-old to date her daughter. True or false?
A source revealed to Life & Style that Kim Kardashian's mom "is planning on helping French with his management, the same as she did with Lamar Odom."
"He's excited about it and is looking forward to working with her," the mole added. "Kris really likes French and is happy to help out."
Woah, this update could probably have birthed those "she paid him to date Khloe" rumors, as this scenario could pretty much make things appear that way.
In addition, according to The New York Daily News, a source said that Kris is arranging for the rapper to get "a big fat paycheck" to appear on the ladies' hit reality show "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."
"The way that the Kardashians' (show) is set up is very unusual. It's the only show that I know of where a producer can say, 'Here's the cast and this is what they're getting paid,'" the insider shared. "Usually to add a cast member to a show, you'd have to fire a cast member to keep the budget balanced. But in this case, Kris just offered French Montana a check to be in the show."
E! execs are reportedly moaning that they're paying too much for the "expensive" artist.
Essentially, this may sound like Kris is having French paid to date her daughter.
The Moroccan-born rapper recently explained how he got involved in the show. The New York Daily News quoted the rapper: "Me just being a part of her life, they recorded me and asked me for my permission to air my footage out, and they wanted to give me a check to do it, give me a contract, make me a part of it."
Okay, so he's saying his romance with Khloe is real from the outset. Will it still the case now that he's going to be involved in the show?
Well, if the latter will be the case, the International Business Times opined that Kris could have hired Drake, baseball star Alex Rodriguez, popular NBA player Kevin Durant, or NFL star Russell Wilson as her main squeeze in order to boost viewership and ramp up Khloe's profile, as well.
