Your favorite pirate, Capt. Jack Sparrows, portrayed by Johnny Depp, will be back to the seas very soon.

Since the filming of "20,000 Leagues Under The Sea" in Australia was "shelved," as Variety reported, the move has lured people behind the "Pirates of the Carribean" franchise to possibly film its fifth installment in the land down under.

Citing a statement from country Arts Minister George Brandis via his spokesperson, filming of "Pirates of the Carribean" in Australia has been given approval by the government, and that the people behind the franchise could get a one-off incentive payment of $20.2 million.

Brandis said, "The government is pleased to agree to Disney's request to enable earlier funding to be repurposed for the production of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 5'," said Brandis in a statement. "Any decision to film productions in Australia (such as ‘20,000 Leagues Under the Sea' or ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 5') is a commercial matter for Disney."

Although there is no word from Disney's camp about the location of its "Dead Men Tell No Tales" movie, word is that the studio is also eyeing to film in Mexico and South Africa, Daily Mail said.

Variety added that Australia "has regularly been a preferred overseas location for major Hollywood movie shoots, but currency movements and growing financial competition from other locations has slowed the inflow in the last couple of years. That competition was made keener only last week when California agreed to increase its incentives. "

If everything goes through as planned, Cinemablend said Johnny Depp and the rest of the cast and crew will be expected to film scenes Down Under in 2015, just in time to meet the announced released date of the movie, which is July 7, 2017.

It is still unclear whether Christoph Waltz of "Django Unchained" and "Inglourious Basterds" fame has been tapped to play the film sequel's main villain, given his work calendar. However, the film news site noted the possibility that Depp would be joined by Australian actor Geoffrey Rush, who has delighted fans of the franchise as the deliciously wicked and cunning Captain Hector Barbossa in previous films.
