Season 7 of "The Voice" just got exciting.

According to an US Weekly report, Taylor Swift would be joining the reality competition as a celebrity mentor. The "Shake It Off" singer would be coming onboard the NBC show as a celebrity advisor to all four teams, something that Coldplay lead singer and songwriter Chris Martin had done in the previous season.

The show itself is already starstudded in terms of having musician juggernauts as its judges. It has already tapped Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams to fill in the seats of Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green as judges for the upcoming season. Blake Sheldon and Adam Levine are set to return to fill in the rest of the judges seats.

Interestingly, Swift would be joining much-older musicians who would be mentoring each team. Stevie Wonder will get to work with Levine, Gavin Rossdale of Bush wiill be working with his wife Gwen, country band Little Big Town with Sheldon, and Alicia Keys with Williams, the magazine website said.

"Taylor was an absolute pleasure to work with. She had great feedback for all the contestants. She made for an amazing mentor," a source close to the NBC show told US Magazine.

Taylor's new gig is also a format to promote her ffth studio album, "1989." The album, the New York Times said, is set to release on October 27, which is a little over a month after "The Voice" returns to television on September 22.

Swift's newest single "Shake It Off" has since racked impressive numbers since its release. According to Billboard, the song debuted at No. 1, which is the 22nd song in the entire music history to have done that. Moreover, Taylor's single has managed to surpass Pharrell's massive hit "Happy" in terms of highest digital sales total of the year with 544,000 downloads to his 490,000.

Slate.com explains that the magnitude of Taylor's command in the music charts is so strong considering the song is just on its first few days. "So powerful is Swift with radio programmers, meanwhile, that 'Shake,' which is barely nine days old, has already racked up the ninth-largest U.S. radio airplay audience of any current song. This is the fastest that radio has adopted a song since Lady Gaga's 2011 smash 'Born This Way.' Finally, in terms of online streaming-the third ingredient in the Hot 100 formula-Swift arrives with 18.4 million U.S. streams, nearly all of them tallied by the song's sprightly video (the song is not yet available on Spotify). Only Nicki Minaj's ass-tastic video for 'Anaconda,' which is also brand new, racked up more clicks over the last week."

Swift has yet to issue a statement regarding her addition to the show. However, she is expected to reveal secrets to being a music superstar on the show.
