The Minnesota Timberwolves are anticipating the arrival of Andrew Wiggins, Anthony Bennett and Thaddeus Young by offering their jerseys earlier than expected.
In a report by NBA.com, the Wolves prepare for the upcoming 2014-2015 NBA season by selling new merchandise, ticket deals and other opportunities for fans to meet their new star players. Jerseys of Wiggins, Bennett and Young will be offered on sale on August 27, 2014, at the team booth in the Fan Center building at the Minnesota State Fair.
Half-season ticket packages and season memberships will be available limitedly but fans who manage to purchase these will be invited to meet the new Timberwolves players in an exclusive event, to be held on August 26, 2014, NBA.com added. The meet-and-greet will reportedly feature 2014 No. 1 draft pick Andrew Wiggins, Thaddeus Young, Anthony Bennett and Zach Lavine. The half-season packages will cover 20 home games as well as provide big discounts for individual game prices.
NBA.com noted that purchasers can also expect more benefits such as getting free tickets to the opening game in Minnesota on October 30, 2014, priority to buy tickets to the Wolves vs. Cavaliers game on January 31, 2015, invitations to Gold member events which happen throughout the season and a 10 percent discount on merchandise sold at the Timberwolves ProShop. The full-season memberships are still available, with prices going as low as $25 for each game.
A Timberwolves Open House will also be held on August 26, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at Target Center, as stated in the NBA.com announcement. It will be open to the public, although people have to RSVP first at timberwolves.com/openhouse to get their complimentary tickets. Fans at the event can determine the available seats to possibly purchase tickets for the 2014-2015 NBA season. Fans can also purchase full-season and half-season ticket packages at Timberwolves.com/membership or by contacting 612-673-1234.
According to Fansided, the starting lineup for Minnesota may include Wiggins, Young, Ricky Rubio, Kevin Martin and Nikola Pekovic. Bennett is expected to be play off the bench. Wiggins is expected to be more visible with the Minnesota Timberwolves since he no longer has to deal with being second or third only to LeBron James with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Wiggins was supposed to wear jersey No. 21 with the Cavs but will now wear No. 22 with the Wolves.
Reddit.com reports that Young will wear jersey No. 33 while Anthony Bennett will wear jersey No. 24 in the upcoming season with Minnesota.
