The Gamescon in Cologne, Germany, is all about the little guys as Sony PlayStation took a rest from their big-budget titles.

CEO Jim Ryan said during the conference that the attendees should "enjoy some games that are just a little bit different."

To show off exactly what that meant, he introduced at the convention about a dozen odd indie game titles that are just as interesting as the big guns. Among the biggest actions come in the form of "Bloodborne," "Destiny" and "Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor."

Here are the top picks from website, TomsGuide.com

The Tomorrow Children - Rebuild the world after an experiment made on humans went very wrong. To survive, you have to mine resources, make weapons, craft vehicles,  and take down your enemies, with cool Pixar-like anime films coming to mind.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter - This occult detective game will lead you to investigate on a young boy's disappearance after a brutal murder occurred. Inspired by macabre stories from the early 20th century, this spooky game is guaranteed to give strange adventures, without relying on as much violence as you'd expect.

Until Dawn - a horror movie-like game made for PS4, Until Dawn has its characters looking like real-life actors down pat. The survival game features "realistically rendered versions" of actors like Brett Dalton (from Agents of SHIELD) and Hayden Panettiere (from Heroes and Nashville).

Bloodborne - The game debuted at E3 2014, but the teaser trailer was all it took to fall in love with the game. With some footage shown for the gothic action-RPG, the game is a great alternative for Dark Souls fans, with its mix blade and gun combat, and werewolf-like beasts swallowing the player character whole (we think).

Volume - Metal Gear Solid meets Art students will be the best way to describe this game. The story of a futuristic re-imagining of Robin Hood, this contains striking environments that will bend to your will as you sneak past guards in a game of stealth.

The PS4's major software update will be perfect to get the feel of these games as features in the form of Share Play makes for a virtual couch experience. Share Play enables one to give a friend the control of your game or join you for one themselves, regardless of whether or not the other player has the game in his collection. All you need is a Play Station Plus, which Sony will launch for a new version in the fall.

Which PS4 Game are you most excited for?
