Who knew the U.K. loves them some werewolf in Taylor Lautner? The "Twilight" star managed to delight British fans in his recent portrayal of a prodigal son in the series 2 of the popular BB Three sitcom "Cuckoo."

Lautner, whom Daily Mail noted have ignited Twitter in the U.K. Thursday evening, was introduced on the small screen as Dale Jr., who is supposedly the long-lost son of Andy Samberg's free-spirited hippy character. Lautner, said the Telegraph, displayed his amazing comedic chops as the potential replacement of Dale Ashbrick, as Samberg has long left the U.K. series.

The Telegraph wrote:

"Writers Robin French and Kieron Quirke responded to the cast change with terrific skill and inventiveness by creating a new character around Lautner: Dale Jr, the son of Samberg's Dale 'Cuckoo' Ashbrick. The new Dale is in much the same mould as the original Cuckoo, but also subverts expectations wonderfully. And as for Lautner's performance, it was very good indeed. He affected a weird giggle and a goofy smile which he pulled off very well; he had a scruffy beard to begin with but shaved it into a more achingly fashionable form once his character was established; and he even took his clothes off at one stage (with a suitable to-camera gasp from Rachel). All in all, a convincingly whacky, winningly whimsical performance."

But one thing that sent female skirts fluttering is Lautner's nude scene, which was the perfect opportunity to revisit the famous washboard abs he first displayed in the film series based on the Stephanie Meyer novels.

Citing an interview with Radio Times, Daily Mail quoted the rising television star, who said about the nude scene, "It was a conversation I had with all the producers and they justified it, saying they really wanted to take a poke and a stab for the fun of it. You guys do that so well, making fun of yourselves. My goal following the Twilight franchise was to challenge myself with a wide variety of roles and genres.Cuckoo was unlike anything I'd done before and I knew I'd have the time of my life!"

For those who are unfamiliar about the sitcom, the new season of "Cuckoo" picks up after Dale's departure from his wife's uptight British family, who is composed of father-in-law Ken Thompson (Greg Davies), optimistic mother-in-law Lorna (Helen Baxendale) and their newly married but grieving widow wife Rachel (Esther Smith).

Daily Mail said that Samberg left the series due to his U.S. commitments, particularly his new comedy hit series "Brooklyn Nine-Nine."
