The next installment of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series won't be in cinemas until July 2017, but that does not mean that the production crew is relaxing by the beach, sipping their rum like Captain Jack Sparrow would've.
According to KDramaStars.com, the crew has set off to Australia, searching for their next film location.
In a tip for The Daily Mail, the fifth installment will be filmed on the Gold Coast in Queensland, with the team having their eyes on the Village Roadshow Studios, as well as in other locations South East of Queensland, including Southport Seaway and the Cleaveland Point.
With a production as big as "Pirates", it will mean hundreds of jobs and a huge money influx for Australia for the whole of the shooting process. With the third installment of the franchise being the most expensive film to have ever been made, (almost $350 million) it is safe to say that the studio will not skimp on cash for this one.
Besides, "Pirates" is one of the most lucrative film series on Disney's plate, with the previous films bringing in a massive $3.73 billion in box office sales globally, so they can expect a big turnout. Even the worst-faring of the film series (2011's "On Stranger Tides") it still brought $1.045 billion globally, and the $244 million in the United States is hardly mediocre at all.
But nothing is certain at this point, so until the final decisions are inked in pen, many in the Australian film industry are keeping their fingers crossed.
Johnny Depp will be reprising his role as the rum-loving pirate, but as for the rest of the cast, there really is no sure-fire list of who will be back, and who will be new on the scene. Rumors are that Geoffrey Rush, Jack Davenport, and Keith Richards will be back for another adventure.
In a report by AirHerald.com, some people believe that Christoph Waltz will be joining, but with no direct source to confirm, that remains to be a rumor.
Will this be the last installment in the franchise? No word from Disney on that font yet, but just in case it is, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley better be back to reprise their roles as Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann!
With the actual movie still a few years away, we can't wait to finally get a glimpse of the trailer, but who will bet that it won't arrive until 2016?
Doesn't mean we can't hope for an earlier one, anyway.
Are you excited for the next Pirates film?
