William Shatner, the iconic Captain Kirk in "Star Trek", will be appearing as himself in an unlikely choice movie, Seth MacFarlane's comedy, "Ted 2". Apparently, his scene will be set in some fictional kind of Comic Con, answering questions about a new role, "TJ Hooker" but got annoyed when fans keep on asking about "Star Trek". That explains the casting call a few days ago with people wearing superhero costumes.

Reports from the Boston Herald pointed out that Shatner is not the only one added to the cast.

According to IGN, Amanda Seyfried will be taking over the lead female role for the sequel. It's not quite clear yet, though, if this means that Kunis will have a smaller role, or if she's been written out completely. Mark Wahlberg is still going to be in the movie though. Screenrant said that the news of Kunis's departure took fans by surprise, but really though, how does this go in line for the story?

The plot has not yet been established, and with the opening almost a year away, the producers are in no hurry to release details before they're due.

Of course, you can't shut everyone up, and despite the hush-hush in regards to the plot, "Ted" lead, Wahlberg let it slip that his character did not actually settle down with his girl (played by Kunis) since the last film.

He said, "That wouldn't be any fun. No, no, no, they're crazier than ever."

We saw how Ted went crazy when he found out he will have to rival with Kunis's character for his owner's affections, but then how will the stuffed bear react to Seyfried?

"It's a problem, but Ted has bigger issues, bigger fish to fry." Walberg said about the movie.

But with the original leading lady gone, "Ted 2" may be trickier than expected. As noted by Screenrant, "In order for a sequel to be successful, it usually has to differ from the original enough to stand on its own. That said, if the premise changes too much - or resets it as 'Ted 2' appears to be doing - then the filmmakers run the risk of alienating the same audience they're trying to bring back to theaters."

So what do you think about some major nerd power for the film, and is it okay that Seyfried is replacing Kunis in the lead role?
