EA Sports, the game developers of the upcoming video game, "NBA Live 15," are making major adjustments which depart from the usual gameplay of its predecessor.
In a report by Attack of the Fan Boy, EA Sports stated that shooting in the new version of the game will be improved. In "NBA Live 14," several gamers complained that shooting the ball was quite difficult, which spurred the developers to make significant changes.
In a game demo for the unreleased NBA Elite 11, a fan gave a positive feedback, saying that the shooting controls were, indeed, much better.
One fan with the account name @ps4GHOST, asked if the shooting approach would change or improve in the 2015 NBA game. The fan tweeted, "Please tell me you're bringing back nba elite's shot stick for Nba Live 15. Shooting had never been done better."
Sean O'Brien, executive producer of NBA Live 15, replied that the shooting, particularly, has been adjusted. He tweeted, "(I) think you'll really like shooting this year man. Feels/looks great."
The fan replied, "(I) hope so! I still throw in nba elite demo on 360 just to shoot around. It was genius. 2k stick/button shooting is too boring."
O'Brien tweeted back, and he pointed out that the problem with that was players can consistently shoot balls from half court if the timing was perfectly done. The fan finally commented that it did require a lot of practice to master and was fun overall.
O'Brien mentioned that EA Sports is currently working on a control scheme to balance the video game. The controls on NBA Elite 11 were too easy, with some players being able to master the timing and shoot ridiculous shots in-game.
Gamers can expect shooting to be smooth and easier, while retaining realism. As a result, shots from very far distances will not consistently go into the basket just like in a real basketball game.
According to Polygon, EA Sports has been very busy improving the details and graphics of the new game to compete with its rival, 2K Sports, which is also set to release the 2015 version of the basketball game.
Paul Kashuk, art director of NBA Live 15, said that they used facial scanning since the 2014 version but more improvements will be made so players appear real onscreen. He said that they are aiming for a photorealistic simulation so gamers will experience the game as if they are in an actual stadium or watching a live NBA broadcast.
