WWE fans are in for a real treat at SummerSlam 2014 as current Heavyweight Champion, John Cena, takes on Brock Lesnar in his official comeback.
Cena recently won the title after surviving in a Fatal Four-Way match in WWE Battleground against Kane, Randy Orton and Roman Reigns. Lesnar is the odds-on favorite to win the match against Cena. Fans believed that "The Beast Incarnate" deserves to hold the title after his magnificent showing at WrestleMania XXX. Lesnar broke The Undertaker's 21-0 winning streak in April 2014 at The Showcase of the Immortals by doing three F5s to finally put The Undertaker to rest.
In a report by Sky Sports, Lesnar last won the heavyweight belt in 2003.
According to Cageside Seats, a lot more exciting matches will be held at SummerSlam 2014. Roman Reigns and Randy Orton will once again face each other after Reigns dissipated any chances of Orton to win the heavyweight title. Stephanie McMahon will most likely be facing Brie Bella after the former's arrest shown on Raw. Dean Ambrose is expected to fight Seth Rollins after previous advertisements thickened the plot between the two.
AJ Lee and Paige are again set to fight for the Divas championship after their great performance at Battleground. Bray Wyatt and Chris Jericho are also expected to have a rematch after Y2J defeated Wyatt upon his return. Rusev and Jack Swagger may be involved in a Flag match, with each wrestler representing the United States and Russia. For the Intercontinental Championship, The Miz, Dolph Ziggler and Bo Dallas may be pitted against each other. There are also rumors that Sheamus may be added to the mix.
In an article by Bleacher Report, the absence of Daniel Bryan leaves the opportunity open for Lesnar to once again seize the heavyweight title. Paul Heyman was effective in building the momentum to signal the return of Lesnar. Cenation has been consistent for years but fans are again clamoring for Lesnar to hold the title at least for a few months. Lesnar will have to come back in excellent condition to defeat Cena.
SummerSlam 2014 will commence on August 17, 2014 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Tickets are still available at designated outlets as well as pay-per-view subscriptions. The SummerSlam panel is one of the highly anticipated parts of the event, where VIP ticket holders get the privilege of taking photos with their favorite superstars.
