Austin Mahone's recent gesture to a rising pop star has fanned speculation that he is dating a spicy Latina.
According to Cambio, chemistry between Mahone and newcomer, Becky G, at the 2014 Premios Juventud Awards, was evident when the two presented the telenovela award. As the two almost kissed, fans could not help but wonder that maybe there is something behind that show of affection onstage.
Hollywood Take said that the passion-charged moment started when Mahone asked Becky G if she likes telenovelas. The lady replied with a sexy speech while moving closer to the handsome singer. As Mahone asks Becky G for a kiss, the rapper playfully declined. Mahone was clearly disappointed with the rejection, but it was enough for fans to launch a hashtag movement for the pop star to ask the Mexican out. By Friday morning, hashtag #AustinAskBeckyOut was already trending.
Mahone later posted a selfie with the Mexican-American singer after the show with a caption that read, "Always good to see @iambeckyg."
Hmmm.
The affection reportedly did not stop from there. On Becky G's birthday, the teen heartthrob gave the songstress a huge bouquet of flowers, which further squashed speculation that he is dating Fifth harmony singer, Camila Cabello.
The coupling might be inevitable, as the two are reportedly working on new music together. If there is any indication that it may happen, one would have to look at the romance between starlet Ariana Grande and Nathan Sykes, whose relationship blossomed behind the recording booth. Grande and Sykes are no longer together, though.
Becky G, who broke into mainstream music with her catchy new single "Shower," is showing great potential. Billboard said that the 17-year-old could very well be summer's next superstar, thanks to the fact that her song sounded a little of Rihanna's hit single "Umbrella." She is backed by music superstars and industry veterans like T. Mills, Dr. Luke and Cirkut. Her hit song is quickly moving up to the Hot 100, and her upcoming tour with Katy Perry as the latter's opening act may pave the way for her to become a formidable musician. She may just fit Mahone's perfect description of a girlfriend given his rising career.
