Louis van Gaal is on the road to rebuilding Manchester United and said that money is not an issue as he prepares to acquire two key players - Angel di Maria and Arturo Vidal.
Van Gaal is eyeing on Chile's star at the World Cup, Arturo Vidal, at Juventus, in a report by Mirror and is said to have offered £37.5 million. The offer is said to be a take-it-or-leave-it bid. Although Juventus initially expressed that they do not intend to let go of the midfielder, the huge offer by the Old Trafford outfit may make them change their mind.
Chief Executive, Ed Woodward, said that their club has no fixed budget for the summer and will spend whatever is necessary to bring the team back to fighting form and win trophies as soon as the season starts. Manchester United may even spend as much as Barcelona and Real Madrid, by offering lone players as much as £50 to £60 million if they are worth it. One of the reasons why Manchester United is in a spending spree may be because of the recently concluded kit deal with Adidas worth £750 million.
According to The Independent, Vidal has been excellent since joining the club in 2011. He won every year since he started and even amazed other potential clubs during the 2014 World Cup.
Manchester also shared that it is aware that Angel Di Maria is available. However, Paris Saint-Germain also showed his intention to acquire the Argentine for one year to prevent any issues with the Financial Fair Play rules of the UEFA. When Di Maria transferred to Benfica of Portugal, he was earning €25 million per year. The Argentine has appeared in several international games to represent his country since 2008. Should Di Maria join Manchester, it would augment their midfield, especially after Ander Herrera confirmed to play.
During the summer, there were several players who departed from the club. So far, Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera were confirmed to stay with the team. Woodward is continually eyeing on new prospects like Stefan de Vrij, Daley Blind and Thomas Vermaelen.
They may also be interested in Mats Hummels. In a report by Manchester Evening News, the club may be finalizing a deal for Hummels, defender for Borussia Dortmund. The club is allegedly offering £16 million. Daley Blind is also in talks with Manchester for a potential deal worth £17 million.
