Fans are getting excited for "Pitch Perfect 2" despite the fact that there's really very little that is known about the upcoming sequel to the hit aca-amazing film.
For now, here are the things that we do know, as listed by Bustle :
It is set to be released on May 15, 2015, which is months away, and fans are pining.
Most of the original cast will be returning, Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson among them. But there will also be newbies to keep things interesting, and that includes Hailee Steinfeld. Filming just wrapped up, with a pillow fight post from Kendrick, because why the hell not?
Unfortunately, the release date is still so near yet so far (there's not even a trailer yet!) so fans will just have to do with speculating which songs the Barden Bellas will cover. And hopefully, they can top their "Don't You Forget About Me," "Give Me Everything Tonight," and "Price Tag" epic mashup.
Here are a few suggestions that should find its way into the "Pitch Perfect 2" soundrack:
Beyonce's "Love on Top" because Anna Kendrick is, like most people, obsessed with queen Bey, and her Twitter posts can attest to that.
Iggy Azalea's "Fancy" because what is a girl movie without shopping? And isn't this song perfect with a shopping montage? Even Iggy's video shamelessly referenced "Clueless" which is nothing if it didn't mean shopping and makeovers.
Zedd's and Haley Williams's "Stay the Night" should also be on the list, because it would be amazing for a scene with Kendrick and Skylar Astin. Except that it will be slower. Because we dig the pair.
Britney's "Toxic" because it's a good song to a capella to (as proven by Glee) but wouldn't it be more awesome if the Treblemakers sing to this instead? Because gender flipping songs always make them more interesting.
Pitbull's "Wild, Wild Love" should also be done, with a collab by the Bellas and the Treblemakers. With Beca and Jesse together in college, wouldn't it make sense for the former rival groups to team up or try to one-up each other at some point?
In other "Pitch Perfect 2" news, The Hollywood Reporter said that the Sing-Off's Filharmonic is said to make an appearance on the film as well. The six-member group who appeared on NBC's show in December will add their own style and flair, and with their passion for a wide variety of styles, they can certainly add new flavor to the lineup.
