As expected by thousands of fans, two of the most powerful teams in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Brazil and Germany, are set to face each other. The winner of the series is expected to bring home the gold.

In a report by The Independent, Brazil is not in such a good position after their superstar Neymar has been confirmed to stay out of the remainder of the tournament after suffering from a fractured vertebrae. Neymar acquired the injury in the quarterfinal match against Colombia. Neymar has been carrying the Brazilian squad in the past few games. Team manager Luiz Felipe Scolari, in the meantime, has to urge Oscar and Hulk to step up. Furthermore, Thiago Silva, captain of Brazil, will also be suspended from the match after being booked in the past week.

Due to the unfortunate circumstances surrounding Brazil, Germany seems to be the odds-on favorite to win the game. The team showed aggressiveness and dominance against all teams they played with. There are several players that can score for the Germans such as Thomas Muller, Mats Hummels, Mesut Ozil and Mario Gotze. It would be easier now to penetrate Brazil's weak defense with the absence of Neymar and Thiago Silva.

The game will commence on July 8 at 9 p.m. Live streaming will be available on ESPN and iTV.

Brazil has changed its approach since its previous appearances at the World Cup. They focused more on defense and counterattacks led by Neymar. Dante and Willian are also expected to step up in the absence of their leaders, but it is unlikely that they can overcome the German offense. Brazil barely won against Colombia and Chile. There may be surprises provided by Luiz Gustavo and goalkeeper Julio Cesar. Overall, fans predict Germany to win over Brazil with a final score of 2-0, according to Rant Sports.

In their past three meetings, Germany won over Brazil 3-2 in 2011, Brazil won over Germany 3-2 in 2005 and the third ended in a 1-1 tie in 2004. The Germans have reached the World Cup finals seven times, winning three of these. The odds for Brazil to win are 9.5, the odds for Germany to win are also 9.5 and the odds of the match ending in a draw are 11.5, according to a report by The Epoch Times. Although Scolari never lost a World Cup match with Brazil, he might be bound to have his first on Tuesday's match.
