Game developer 2K Sports had fans excited upon announcing that they were going to introduce several famous voices for the MyPlayer mode in the upcoming game, NBA 2K15.
The idea to expand the number of player voices stemmed from the good reception by gamers of LeBron James' pre-recorded voice in NBA 2K14. The MyPlayer mode has been improved to cover more players. NBA MVP Kevin Durant will appear on the cover of the new game with the caption, "Your Time Has Come." The voices who will be heard in the new game include those of Kevin Durant, Gerald Wallace, Trey Burke, Thaddeus Young, Andre Drummond, Channing Fry, Brandon Knight, Andre Iguodala, Al Horford and Brook Lopez. More voices are expected to be recorded in the following weeks.
In a Gameranx article, Thaddeus Young of the Philadelphia 76ers was seen at the 2k studio recording his voice. Before, LeBron James was the cover athlete of NBA 2K14 which featured the superstar's own game mode dubbed "Path To Greatness". The game mode let fans control the player towards winning his championships and MVP awards. Players expect the same kind of approach in the Kevin Durant game mode.
Pre-orders for NBA 2K15 provide gamers with a Kevin Durant Bonus Pack. The pack features 5000 in-game currency, a Kevin Durant Throwback My Team Card, a couple of My Team card packs and My Player Leg Sleeves inspired by the MVP himself.
In a report by Sports Keeda, Jackson Ellis will be returning in NBA 2K15, the prebuilt rival in the game's predecessor. Having more player voices mean that gamers get to go through the game with more choices in terms of teams and basketball players. People who pre-order will also receive a mini basketball set. The backboard of the set features the signature of Durant. NBA 2K15 will officially be released on October 7, 2014. The available platforms are Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and Windows.
Fans of the game already indicated the players whom they also wish to have recorded voices. Included in the list are Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal, Michael Jordan, Phil Jackson and Dwyane Wade. Kevin Durant recently tweeted that he has a secret project going on which particularly involves NBA 2K15.
The recorded voices are expected to raise the dynamics and intensity of the game. The MyPlayer mode has also been well-accepted by 2K fans, which spurred the developers to continue using and expanding it, adding more details after hearing the inputs of game fanatics.
