Manny Pacquiao Next Fight 2014 is Amir Khan? 'Official Talks' On-Going

Floyd Mayweather Jr. will not face either Manny Pacquiao or Amir Khan next.

In a report by The National, Bob Arum of Top Rank Promotions and Oscar Dela Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions finally put their grudges aside and decided to work together to make excellent matchups. According to Amir Khan, he and Pacquiao have similarities that would make a stellar fight. It would be a great storyline said Khan. They were both trained by Freddie Roach and they have sparred hundreds of times together. Also, Khan said that he remains friends with the Filipino champion.

According to Sports World News, Khan said Pacquiao has difficulty with good boxers. The Filipino allegedly struggles with fighters with good jabs and great movement. Khan further claimed that he is huge for his weight class because he is a lot taller than Pacquiao. He is also able to handle southpaws well. He said that "It would be a good 50-50 fight."

Khan said, "But boxing is a business and I want to fight him and beat him and then fight Floyd Mayweather in May next year. That's my target." He added, "Official talks have already been started between our camps."

Manny Pacquiao doesn't seem to be choosy when it comes to fight venues. He has fought in the Philippines, Las Vegas, Macau, Texas and New York. Khan also wishes to meet him anywhere. "I'm ready to fight wherever, whether it's in Vegas or Macau or Dubai," he said.

The Epoch Times writes that Bob Arum said Pacquiao has a lot of new talents to choose from for his next fight. Joe DeGuardia, Khan's promoter said, "We want the fight, we'd love the fight, but ultimately, the decision is up to Manny. There are a lot of possibilities, and a rematch is one of them. But the No. 1 priority would be a fight with Manny Pacquiao, because that's the biggest mountain to climb at this point."

Khan said he is eyeing star boxers like Pacquiao, Juan Manuel Marquez and Floyd Mayweather. He said that it is only by facing these topnotch boxers and beating them that he will successfully establish his name as among the best. He said that he permitted his team, Khan Promotions, to settle a deal and make a fight happen and that he is looking forward to fight Mayweather after the Ramadan month of September in 2015.
