Henrik Stenson's first eagle on the 2nd hole set the pace early on in the first round of the 2012 Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia.

Stenson made a second eagle on the 8th hole and his third birdie on the 15th helped him remain at top spot up until the 18th hole where he hit four strokes over the par 4, a quadruple-bogey that is, finishing the first round one under (-1) at 71 strokes.

Tiger Woods ended the day with 72 strokes tied 28th place by 5:30 EST displaying a fair game with three birdies and three bogies throughout the 18 holes.

Rory Mcilroy's scorecard remained even through the 12th hole. A double-bogey on the first hole was a rough start for the North Ireland native, but remedied it with three birdies on the 2nd, 8th, and 9th hole.

Louis Oosthuizen from South Africa and Lee Westwood from England are tied at 1st place (as of 5:30 EST) both with -4 on their scorecard.
