Floyd Mayweather, Jr. is one of the biggest trash-talkers in the sport. Many times, he has been involved in out-of-the-ring fights, scandals and disputes because of his lack of tact.
In a report by Courier Mail, Mayweather again showed his bad attitude, despite being an undefeated boxer and one of the most respected fighters in the present era. In a post on Instagram, he decided to show his sexist side by posting,
"How a female dresses is her advertisement. If a female shows half of her body, she's asking to be disrespected. If she dresses classy, expect to be treated like a lady. How you're addressed lies on your attire. Sexy is a spirit, not an outfit."
The Instagram post was liked over 75,000 times and garnered close to 5,000 comments from social media fans.
Mayweather also revealed that he was a racist by targeting rival Manny Pacquiao, a boxer from the Philippines. He said before, "Once I stomp the midget, I'mma make that [expletive] make me a sushi roll and cook me some rice ... you know how it is baby, we gonna cook that [expletive] with some cats and dogs." Even his father was not immune to his rants. He told Mayweather Sr. in 2011, "You couldn't fight worth [expletive], you wasn't nothing but a [expletive] cab driver! Get the [expletive] out my gym!"
According to The Huffington Post, however, Floyd recanted his verbal slurs against Pacquiao and apologized to Filipinos all over the world.
Furthermore, Mayweather showed his lack of class when he was interviewed by Larry Merchant after his controversial knockout win against Victor Ortiz. When Merchant asked him whether he took advantage of the time when Ortiz was not defending himself, Mayweather replied, "You ain't never give me a fair shake ... I'm through, put someone else through to give me an interview." He added hotly, "You ain't never give me a fair shake! HBO needs to fire you - you don't know [expletive] about boxing. You ain't [expletive]."
Mayweather, despite his bad temper towards opponents, also has friends, says Fox Sports. These are the kind of people who prefer to be on Floyd's good side such as rapper Lil' Wayne and singer Justin Bieber. Mayweather has addressed fans positively before and he is also known to give away cash and other items to be better liked by the people around him.
The media is always on the lookout on the next mean things that the boxing superstar may say next.
